HISTORY

HAWEMA

HAWEMA Werkzeugschleifmaschinen GmbH was founded in 1993 based on Haller GmbH. Company founder Hubert Haller has been involved in grinding technology for almost 40 years and for over 20 years mainly in the field of “regrinding and production of cutting tools”, with a focus on milling and drilling tools.

In 1984, he began to develop complete grinding devices as attachments for conventional grinding machines. With these dividing heads, used conventional grinding machines could be upgraded and high-precision tools could be regrinded swirl-free. At the time, this was revolutionary in the grinding sector. 1,200 of these devices were sold worldwide in a relatively short time, including to many renowned companies.

The developments continued with 2- and 3-axis CNC-controlled machines up to the 5-axis CNC-controlled machines with a new type of kinematics.

With this new type of machine design, corresponding technological prerequisites were specified, which had the primary aim:

The heart of all HAWEMAT machines is the worldwide patented HAWEMA kinematic system. The grinding within the movement centre leads to high accuracy of the tool geometries.

Continuous further developments and their worldwide market launches followed.

In 2009, the HAWEMAT 2001 Präzisa Granite was introduced as the world’s first machine built on a granite gantry.

In 2019, the market launch of the 5-axis CNC Automatic Tool Grinder WSA G10 took place. Due to the unique design of the machine with the closed granite body and the loading and unloading systems mounted on it in “one level”, a seamless process flow is made possible.

End of 2022 relocation of the company from the previous headquarters in Trossingen to the new location in Tuningen, Black Forest-Baar district.

Unternehmensgeschichte

1984 - 1995

Development and sales of grinders for upgrading manual machines.

1993

the company HAWEMA Werkzeugschleifmaschinen GmbH, in D-78647 Trossingen, was founded by Mr. Hubert Haller.

1996

Development of the first HAWEMAT 5-Axis CNC tool grinding machine (HAWEMAT 2000)

2000:

Launch of the newly developed HAWEMAT 3000.

2004:

Presentation of the HAWEMAT 2001 NUM-Axium-Power. With this machine, the entire spectrum of tasks in tool grinding can be efficiently mastered. With the HAWEMAT 2001 ECO, a machine has been designed especially for the regrinding market.

2009:

The world's first machine built on a granite gantry, the HAWEMAT 2001 Präzisa Granite, was launched.

2013:

Opening of the new HAWEMA demonstration and training centre in Trossingen.

2014:

The largest and strongest of the HAWEMA machine range is presented with the HAWEMAT 3000 Granite. Also in this case, the granite elements ensure highest accuracy and dynamics.

2017

Mr. Alexander Joos joined the company as co-managing director. The company currently employs 20 people in the areas of production, development, administration and sales. A lean organisational structure ensures short and fast decision-making paths in all areas. The customer has direct access to the appropriate contact persons in service and application technology.

2019:

Market launch of the 5-Axis CNC automatic tool grinding machine WSA G10. Due to the unique design of the machine with the closed granite body and the loading and unloading systems mounted on it in "one level", a seamless process flow is possible.

2022:

Since the beginning of 2022, Mr. Alexander Joos is the sole managing director. End of 2022 relocation of the company from the previous headquarters in Trossingen to the new location in Tuningen, Black Forest-Baar district.

A number of other innovations in the peripheral area, such as a new system for measuring the clamping length of tool blanks, took place in parallel.
